I think I'm such a rockstar but in reality I am a giant dork.

I finished HP7 in under 48 hours (and, when you consider that I spent a good chunk of that time outside of my apartment, that's quite a feat) and I'm now currently reading it again --- about 100 pages in. I'm so into Potterworld right now that when my mom asked me about work, I struggled to remember what I actually do for a living.

Screw TV. I want to be a witch.

I should really stop trying to be a badass. Because I just end up being a klutz and nowhere near the level of awesome that I want.

Last week as I was trying to be all cool walking down Broadway, wearing my sunglasses and leather jacket, I tripped over my suitcase. Today, as I was trying to do the same down Canal Street (minus the leather), my sandal came flying off my foot.

At this rate I'm never going to be a bad motherfucker. Dammit.

Episode III MORE than made up for the first two.

Empire is still my favorite, by far. But this one was great in its own right. My parents are haters and insist on comparing the newer ones to the original trilogy which, as far as I'm concerned, you simply cannot do.

Lucas was so meticulous in making sure that everything in the original trilogy was accounted for by the end of this movie. I know -- I had a mental checklist which I was going through during the entire thing. I gained a lot of respect for him as a director by the end of this (he didn't direct Empire, which knocked him down a little before, but it's all fixed now). It's really cool to have all the loose ends tied together (with the exception of one or two, which I won't mention here, but if you want to talk about it come find me. Hehehe).

Seeing the CGI in this one was fantastic, and it makes me even more awestruck at the fact that they created a very similar world back in 1977 when they didn't have all of this technology. Episodes I-III didn't have the kitschiness of the originals, but I don't think they were supposed to. These movies went from light to dark; the originals went from dark to light. They parallel perfectly.

If I talk about it any more I'm going to wind up giving things away, so I will stop.

BUT!

If you are thinking, "What do I get Roopa for her birthday?!", HAVE NO FEAR!

I am in love. Click me!

HILARIOUS MOMENTS IN BACH SOCIETY REHEARSAL TODAY.

(We're singing Bach Motette Number 6, among other pieces. Just for reference.)

[Just after he walks in on the med students in the group throwing paper airplanes around the room (which was hilarious in and of itself.)]
David (our director): So, I think we should call it a night tonight...there's this energy we have right now which is wonderful, but not really conducive to work...we worked on a lot of detail today in the Cantata and the Mendelsshon. So let's come back next week, right at 7:30, and start the Motette. The Mo-tette.
[Starts making gang signs with his hands]
David: Spelled M-o-apostrophe-T-h-e-t. Mo'Thet. The gangsta-Egyptian rap. Or something.

[Later, after stopping us in the middle of the Mo'Thet.]
David: That sounded great guys, but you're still sounding very separated. We need to make this sound together, and have your voices blend, so everything can sound very enmeshed.
[Dan Chen puts his hand up to his mouth to giggle as David starts playing the piano. David sees Dan and stops.]
David: [Fake intake of breath] Ooooh, I said enmeshed.
[Dan turns beet red]

I downloaded the Saathiya ringtone for my phone!! This is making me WAYYY too excited. Hahaha.
